You may need to make changes to a quote before sending it to your client. This guide shows you how to edit quotes in the system.
When to Edit a Quote
- Before you send it to correct errors or add details
- If the client requests changes
- To update pricing or scope
- To adjust the valid-until date
How to Edit a Quote
Step 1: Find Your Quote
- Go to “Quotes” in the main menu
- Locate the quote you want to edit
- Click on the pencil icon to open it in edit mode
Step 2: Make Your Changes
You can modify:
- Quote number
- Title and description
- Issue date and valid-until date
- All line items (add, remove, or change quantities and prices)
- Notes and terms
Step 3: Update Line Items
To modify the products or services in your quote:
- Change an item: Click the field and type new information
- Change quantity or price: Update the numbers
- Add an item: Click “Add Line”
- Remove an item: Click the trash/delete icon
- Totals recalculate automatically
Step 4: Save Your Changes
- Click “Save Quote” when finished
- You’ll see a confirmation message
- Changes are now saved
Things to Know When Editing
Quote Numbers
- If you change the quote number, it must be unique
- The system won’t allow duplicate quote numbers
If You’ve Already Sent the Quote
If the client has already received your quote and you make changes:
- You should send it again so they see the updated version
- The unique link remains the same, but the content updates
- Consider letting the client know you’ve made revisions
Can’t Edit After Conversion
- If you’ve already converted the quote to an invoice, you can’t edit it as a quote anymore
- Edit the invoice instead
